One of the questions I get a lot about this is:
Can MemberVault really look and function as my main website?
I understand the hesitation. You started out maintaining a separate website because MemberVault is primarily a home for your digital products. So what's changed within MemberVault that now makes it a viable option for a website? Is it even fully possible or would you have to compromise a lot?
The short answer is YES! But let's unpack that below (and you also get a sneak peek of what the full content looks like if you get the course 😉).
To highlight the key features that allow MemberVault to function as your main website beyond hosting your digital products
Your website may go beyond the description of a "typical website" but hopefully you can work with me on this one. Let's say a traditional website has:
You may have extra features or perhaps you are looking to move from another online course/membership platform. But let's say these are the base features you are looking for in MemberVault and I will touch on it's course/membership abilities too.
You can create standalone pages in MemberVault and use them for pretty much anything. So that's your home page, about page, list of services/products, sales page, privacy policy page and so on.
🔥You can even replace the default home page, which is a list of your visible products, with any standalone page you create.
There's also a page builder and templates to get you started. It's not as fancy as other page builders you may be used to. So if you have complex design requirements you might need to use some code to get that extra magic.
You create blog posts in MemberVault now, complete with those crucial SEO fields. The one thing on the "future enhancement" list that I'd love to see soon is Blog Categories!
The new content type in MV called "Offers" is perfect for this as the signup form appears on the same page as the landing page content. You can also use a standard MV product for this if you are storing the lead magnet content in MV.
You can create a traditional menu in MV like below. The links can go to pages in MV or external links. Pretty nifty and probably one of the main features that tipped MV into the website region for some. Though I browse online a lot on my phone so I rarely see people's menus :D
This is turning into an epic article so I will bundle the rest of my list in this section.
There are 3 main aspects of the migration:
The first 2 are fairly manual processes. I give you some tips to quicken the process in the course but if you have a lot of content to move, then it's going to be a tedious, yet satisfying journey for you. Though the content audit might result in you not needing to move so much content!
The other thing I've included in the course is a fast-track route. Some of the clients I have helped have had to work to a tight deadline (usually because their current web host renewal is imminent and they'd like to move before then). This is the sort of scenario that would benefit from a fast-track option and it looks like the below:
Inside you'll find a summarised version of the lesson actions if applicable.
When you are ready, I've got two options for you below. You can either get the self-paced guide which guides you on what you need to do (first button below). Or the done-for-you service where I plan the whole migration, do all the techy parts and guide you on the content tasks (I may also migrate the content for you depending on the volume but let's have a chat first).
